Critically-acclaimed A-list photographer (and one of my favorites I must admit), Annie Leibovitz, has recently released the latest installment of her Disney Dream Portrait series. Featuring the lovely Jessica Chastain portraying Brave’s Merida, the wonderfully cast actress sits atop a wild black stallion, bow and arrow in tow.

Debuting the series in 2007, this is just one of many from Leibovitz’s Disney Dream series; other portraits include Jennifer Hudson as The Princess and the Frog’s Tiana, Taylor Swift as Tangled’s Rapunzel, and who could forget Will Ferrell, Jack Black and Jason Segel’s portrayal of the hitchhiking ghosts from The Haunted Mansion.

As not only a major Disney fan, but a huge Annie Leibovitz admirer as well, I couldn’t ask for a better collaboration, and commend the photographer for her accurate depictions of the many princes, princesses and various fairytale personalities that have lit up our childhoods. The casting simply could not have…

NOT A Review: Heroes of Dragon Age [Android]   Leave a comment

The Skeptical Hero

Heroes of Dragon Age is a Free-To-Play strategic, CCG-inspired 3D combat game from EA Swiss Sarl.

Here the goal is to build the perfect squad, using a combination of tabletop-like figurines based on characters from across the beloved Dragon Age universe, including rare dragons, giant golems, and other devastating creatures – each with unique abilities, stats, and factions.  Once gathered you can then send your squad out to face epic quests and boss battles, giving you the chance to relive places, times, and storylines straight from the franchise.  And of course, there is also the online leaderboard, where you can fight for eternal glory by facing your squad off against other random players’.

The premise has a lot of promise, however despite the slight strategic elements present, the gameplay is simplistic to the point of being non-existent, and fails to deliver.  It is not helped by the limitations placed upon the game by…

High Score

It is with bated breath that I await the long sort after third game in the Dragon Age series. I’ve been playing DA since Origins came out in 2009, and for an RPG it’s fantastic to play though. I guess we can expect that though from Bioware, after all they did cut their teeth on RPGs. So, being a small start-up blog, the likelihood of myself getting to see any kind of real behind the scenes information or proper media press packs is unlikely. Sadly, I have to rely instead on what they post to the general public. That said, the following video is a great start to hear just what the Bioware team are out to achieve.
